Is Coinbase holding MicroStrategy’s bitcoin?

Despite Michael Saylor’s repeated refusals to publish a proof of reserves for the 597,325 bitcoin (BTC) at MicroStrategy (MSTR), Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong decided to publicly doxx their most probable location. Disregarding Saylor’s concerns that disclosing the location of the coins could create the risk of social engineering and wrench attacks, Armstrong tweeted about their location while bragging about Coinbase’s “institutional team.” During the thinly veiled disclosure, he admitted that eight of the top 10 publicly traded companies with BTC on their balance sheets use Coinbase Prime. That makes it highly likely that MicroStrategy holds BTC at Coinbase Prime . Hold up. @Saylor told us the reason why he doesn't show PoR is because doing so may dox who the custodian is, which may cause social attacks. But now it seems now the custodian is choosing to dox who their customers are, rendering "security through obfuscation" as pointless? pic.twitter.com/w0...

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong Says US Economy Wins if Stablecoin Laws Allow Users To Earn On-Chain Interest

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says the US economy would benefit if Congress adopts stablecoin legislation that allows users to earn on-chain interest. In a new post on the social media platform X, Armstrong says dollar-backed stablecoins are growing in popularity and could yield increased benefits for users as well as the US with changes to the law. As US lawmakers debate stablecoin legislation, Armstrong says the government should legalize on-chain interest for users. “Stablecoins have already found product market fit by digitizing the dollar and other fiat currencies, but we haven’t unlocked a critical piece of the puzzle for the average person, and the US economy, to reap the full benefits: on-chain interest… ‘On-chain interest’ is the ability of a stablecoin to function as a form of payment and directly deliver interest earned on reserve assets to the stablecoin holder, effectively an interest-bearing checking account.” Armstrong...

The representative added, “This volatility makes BTC less suitable as a reserve asset for the UK.” Yes to US Bitcoin Reserve, No to UK Bitcoin Reserve At last week’s US crypto summit , Donald Trump’s administration established a strategic BTC reserve alongside a “stockpile” for other cryptocurrencies. The capital flowing into Coinbase is likely to spill over into projects launching on Base, providing opportunities for significant gains. As the market remains greedy and Bitcoin holds strong near its all-time highs, Base Chain’s Total Value Locked (TVL) is rising rapidly, reflecting the increasing volume and transaction fees. The presence of new on-chain users and fresh liquidity has the potential to spark further growth. While the market has yet to fully reach “FOMO” levels, the loosening of regulations in certain areas presents a positive outlook for the future. The company announced the initiative in a Jan. 23 X post. According to the thread published by Coinbase Cloud, since its inception, Geth was the only Ethereum (ETH) execution client that fulfilled the company’s technical needs for Ethereum staking.
